My daughter was involved in an accident with a mine bus on the 11th of May 2005 at Tumela Village which belongs to Anglo American Platinum. The driver was still on duty with Anglo American bus. After the incident, my daughter was immediately transferred to Clinton hospital (Alberton).

She sustained severe injuries on her vital organs and private parts. She is still admitted in the hospital after 6 months and still has 3 months for recovery.

We are currently liable for the medical bills (through medical aid) and we visit her twice a week from Rustenburg since we are currently employed by Anglo American Platinum. This matter was addressed with senior management of the company for any type of assistance but they all refer us to the medical aid.

We are currently going through a financial constrain on this matter as we have to have emergency money for other surgeries which medical aid doesn’t cover. We would like to ask for legal assistance against Anglo American as their driver was the one at fault according to the report.
